Description: The project's main goal is an annotated, web-based edition of Joachim von Sandrart's "Teutscher Academie der Edlen Bau, Bild- und Mahlerey-Künste" (1675-80), an important source text for the history of arts and the early modern period in general. For more information, please visit .

Implementation description: Text is encoded using TEI P5 Lite. In addition, the more than 3,500 distinct persons found in the text, as well as more than 1,500 locations and hundreds of pieces of art mentioned are tagged and linked to entries in a relational database. Moreover, the source TEI text is augmented by extensive commentary and (at least partial) translations to Italian and French.
