Plan is to review corpus applications, XInclude

DD: JC mentions cycles in graphs, raises concern about XInclude's inability to handle them. JC explains that this kind of cyclic pointing is not typically an inclusion relationship. Consensus seems to be to represent the ‘I point at you, you point at me’ kind of relationship with <link> not XInclude.

The issue is more making cross-references [?...?].

Stand-off markup vs coreference in annotation. Form,er is about applying properties to base data; the latter about showing relationships between properties.

FV: circularity of inclusion makes no sense; concern that if we discuss it we will be perceived incorrectly. Solution seems to be to cvhange the wording of SOW05 to discuss cross-referncing rather than stand-off markup (i.e., inclusions)

Explanation that multiple ‘hub’ documents may XInclude the same source data. Concern that some sort of packaging system may be useful.

Suggestion that such information should be in the <teiHeader> of a <teiCorpus.2> , which contains all the <TEI.2> ‘hub’ documents. May be other suggestions on where to put this later.

Discussion of attr values vs. content. Suggestion that declaring the distinction between a file that has the source data as element content and one that has annotation as element content be made.

Agreed that mandating a declaration of the distinction is not a good idea; need to discuss next time whether providing a place to declare this distinction is.

Action 1: JC In the context of working on SO W 05, write up some thoughts on this, send to NI. Please name the darn things so we can talk aboutt them. 2003-05-15
Action 2: NI Read and possibly refine or add to JCs thoughts on this. Post result to list. 2003-05-22 14:00

NI suggests that doing a mapping between the TEI s-o-m and the ISO pivot or interchange formatshould be developed, along with some example data.

Action 3: NI post pointer to ISO pivot format-to-be 2002-05-18

DD prefers W3C regexps as he prefers not to have back-references.
