TEI Membership

Membership in the TEI Consortium is one of the most important ways to support the TEI's work. Since the founding of the consortium, membership support has directly enabled the TEI to publish two new versions of the TEI Guidelines, and has provided funding for the TEI's annual meeting and conference, the TEI Special Interest Groups, and the many other activities the TEI undertakes.

Members are entitled to vote in TEI elections and help determine the priorities and directions for the Consortium's work; they may attend the TEI annual meeting and conference free of charge, and also receive discounts on workshops, summer schools, and project consulting. In addition to members, the TEI Consortium has individual subscribers and corporate sponsors, who receive many of the benefits of membership, but do not vote.

Membership and subscribership are for the calendar year. The current list of TEI members includes universities and colleges, research libraries, library consortia, academic and other non-profit publishers, as well as publishing associations, scholarly societies, and a range of commercial entities concerned with the design, production or delivery of structured electronic text.

We invite all institutions concerned with creating or making use of electronic text to join the TEI Consortium, and help our community advance this important standard.
